Haiti Team Update from Brian Fields

Update from Brian Fields (Calvary’s Missions Director)

-Haiti Team Leader – in the format in which he sent it

7PM Haiti time – 1/28/10

3 teams out today

  • one went to an orphanage to do ministry
  • second went to the tent medical hospital, doctors did triage there today
  • third team went to Maison de Lumiere orphanage to build shelves to stock medication for ongoing clinic starting next week

Calvary neurosurgeon created a neuro ICU process today for paralyzed patients coming in from now on over the coming months

little church at the orphanage is now a care ward for amputees and other patients needing longer term care

4 yr old boy just arrived having no food or water for 3-4 days, dealing with post -traumatic stress

50 tents there from all the different groups at the compound

swarms of people gathering and asking for prayer: “Please pray for me”

delivering lots of food to needy people

Amazing day

Rex led one man to Christ, and there were likely some others

Lots of opportunities to share the Lord with people in very deep ways

The people have a real hunger for God
